Extensive Teaching Experience
Richard Mintzer was the founder and director of the insurance program at the Community College of Aurora. This course and curriculum were compiled by him and was very popular. Attendance boomed from three students in 1990 to over 300 students by the year 2000. Through this course, Mr. Mintzer has shared his experience with many students and licensed insurance producers.
Mr. Mintzer also created the first insurance Bachelor of Science degree in the state of Colorado in cooperation with Regis University.
Courses Taught:
"AIC 33 The Claims Environment" This is an overview course of the entire claims process. This course focuses on the professional responsibility of Claim Representatives and is one of 3 parts of the nationally recognized professional designation "Associate in Claims" degree.
"AMIM 122 and AMIM123 Marine Insurance" two of the three parts necessary to attain the nationally recognized professional designation "Associate in Marine Insurance"
"CLU I " The first course in a series of ten leading to the CLU/CHFC designation. The CLU/CHFC designation is recognized as highest level of technical education in the life health and employee benefit industry.
"CPCU 6" The legal environment of insurance. Mr. Mintzer handled the parts that dealt specifically with the responsibilities of insurance professionals.
A series of courses designed to satisfy the State of Colorado continuing education requirements. Subjects include E&O, Professional Responsibility and Ethics
